      Powell Flutes Boston, a leading producer of world-renowned flutes and piccolos, is hiring for the position of Handmade Body Maker. We are seeking a candidate with at least 3-5 years of flute body making experience.

      For over 90 years, our flute makers have combined tradition and innovation with collaboration and creativity.       Projects

      Body makers create the foundation of our exceptional flutes. They are responsible for precious metal tube preparation and treatment, assembly and installation of the following components: ribs, posts, boxes, and barrels, as well as fitting of the steels. The position demands expertise in gold and silver metalworking, soldering, and a strong understanding of geometry and dimensions, attention to detail, excellent time management skills, a high degree of manual dexterity, patience, and openness to feedback.

      The position is Full-time (40 hours per week) and is based in Maynard, Massachusetts at our workshop.

      Required profile

      The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of experience making Handmade flutes in precious metals. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

            Projects

            The European Sales, Marketing, and Product Manager position is responsible for all pro flute sales in Europe for the Powell and Parmenon brands, marketing for the entire flute range, and for managing the entire range of flute products.

             

            Sales

            • Achieve Pro Flute Sales Budget Targets for Buffet Crampon SAS (BCSAS) and Buffet Crampon Deutschland (BCD) business units
            • Manage and maintain existing distribution network and dealer accounts
            • Define, manage, and execute distribution growth in the European territories
            • Define, manage, and execute pro flute sales policies and sales agreements
            • Define and Pursue Artist targets
            • Manage dealer customer service tasks
            • Coordinate After-sales service issues (SAV) with Parmenon workshop (France)
            • Manage and maintain Expo inventory, both physically and financially.

            Marketing

            • Define promotional activities to reach sales targets and to support dealer sales

            • Manage promotional material needed for exhibitions, festivals, conventions, artist events
            • Maintain artist relationships and support artists within goals of the Powell Artist Program
            • Adapt communication and marketing to market specific needs

            Product Management

            • Manage all physical issues related to the instruments, product range, equipment, and accessories as it pertains to the European territory
            • Represent the instrument range in exhibition situations
            • Answer all technical inquiries of customers, artists, and BC employees
            • Report on acoustic and aesthetic feedback
            • Report on quality issues
            • Educate and train new sales colleagues for student range of instruments
            • Develop new products as required by EU market demands, launch and promote said new products
            • Interact with Powell manufacturing plant in USA to facilitate Interco supply chain

            Required profile

            • Flutist with Musical Studies (entry level D.E.M)

              6. Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports
              7. Regular interaction and communication with educators & musicians within the territory
              8. Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads
              9. Minimum 2 weeks travel within the sales territory per month required as well as required travel for industry and partner events (70-90%)
