Located in the western suburbs of Boston, we are searching for an experienced Customer Service Representative/ Product Specialist. The successful candidate will help support the Boston area sales team which services all of North America.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will support the sales team with the following responsibilities:

    1. Manage customer service inquiries for all channels / product lines. This will include email, phone and social media and communication from Powell Authorized Dealers, INTERCO Dealers,and Direct Customers.
    2. Manage shipping inquiries and logistics, working with appropriate team members on the 4 th floor.
    3. Knowledge of all Powell products / product lines.
    4. Since INTERCO communication will be Sonare heavy, detailed product focus on this line will be required.
    5. Manage customer service communications, escalating further to the Sales Representative or Sales Manager when required.

    Required profile

    SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    -Excellent command of the English language, including writing and presentation skills.
    -Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require
    high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to collect accurate information, assess
    situations, and make decisions.
    -Solid computer skills including knowledge of commonly used MS Office software and
    social media formats.
    -Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
    -Bachelor’s degree required.

    This “business-to-business” professional should be able to provide product knowledge and information about the musical instrument brands and models owned and distributed by the company; work with the sales team to increase market demand and sales; achieve maximum profitability and growth in line with company visions and mission and establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area.

     

    The Low Brass Product Specialist must be comfortable presenting musical instruments to qualified dealers and cultivating relationships with musicians, educators, and prospective customers. Experience and knowledge of low brass musical instruments is a must.

    Required profile

    Responsibilities

    1. Support the sales team with product training and information as needed to encourage sales.
    2. Work with the marketing team to develop marketing materials to assist in promoting our brands.  This would include brochures, advertisements, posters, product comparisons, and anything else that can be helpful to gain market awareness.
    3. Coordinate instruments going to and returning from Division Managers, trade shows, and displays to ensure quality and accountability is maintained.
    4. Conduct one-on-one and group product presentations to customers, dealers, educators, and schools.
    5. Communicate with the Division Managers regularly to monitor their progress of sales vs. forecast and offer guidance as needed to help them sell our brands vs. the competition.
    6. Gather information from the market that can be helpful for increasing support for our brands, i.e. what do band directors prefer, what are students responding to, what incentives is the competition offering, where can we improve, etc.
    7. Provide the necessary information as needed to ensure our products are priced properly to be both profitable and competitive on the market vs. our competition.
    8. Maintain a current analysis of all key references vs. the competitive brands showing features, benefits, dealer cost, and retail market price
    9. Identify potential candidates and develop a network of “Key Influencers” to strengthen the presence and support for our brands in key market areas.
    10. Travel with Division Managers as needed to visit dealers, educators, and artists and as required for industry and partner events (70-90%).

     

    Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong working knowledge of low brass instruments (Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba)
    • Must be a self-starter
    • Analytical skill set, strong presentation skills, ability to interact with any level within an organization

    5. Provide account management to an existing territory
    6. Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts and reports
    7. Regular interaction and communication with educators & musicians within the territory
    8. Develop and maintain prospect and customer list based on strategic marketing data and other sources for sales leads
    9. Minimum 2 weeks travel within the sales territory per month required as well as required travel for industry and partner events (70-90%)
